Grammarly has acquired Superhuman, a San Francisco-based email efficiency startup valued at $825 million in 2021, as part of its strategic push to build a broader AI-powered productivity ecosystem.
The deal brings Superhuman’s CEO Rahul Vohra and over 100 employees into Grammarly’s fold while preserving Superhuman’s product and brand identity.
This move is an important milestone for Grammarly, which recently raised $1 billion to diversify beyond grammar correction and develop AI agents that enhance workplace communication.
Enhancing Email Productivity with AI Integration
Superhuman is renowned for its AI-driven email platform that helps users respond faster and manage inboxes more efficiently. Its users reportedly send and reply to 72% more emails per hour compared to traditional platforms, with AI feature adoption growing fivefold in the past year.
Grammarly plans to integrate its AI agents into Superhuman’s platform, creating a collaborative network of specialized agents capable of pulling data from emails, documents, and workflows to automate routine tasks and improve response times.
